Fees
My fee for therapy sessions
- $240 per 50 minute session for individuals
- $250 per 50 minute session for couples
Insurance
I don’t accept insurance. Some of my clients have paid with their FSA card. Therapy may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance PPO Plan for out-of-network providers. I can provide you with a super bill for each visit and paid fee, which you can turn in to your insurance carrier for possible reimbursement. Some PPO’s reimburse the psychotherapy fee fully, some partially. If you are planning on using health insurance, it is always recommended you check with your insurance regarding your coverage first and ask the following questions:
- For couples therapy, ask specifically “Is CPT Code 90847 covered?”
- Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
- What is my deductible and has it been met?
- How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
- Does my plan cover out of network providers?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
- Is approval required from my primary care physician?
- How do I submit a claim for a superbill?
Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
